While we may be a little late to the party, it's never too late to pay homage to that specific day in April heralded by many. Mighty Axe Hops is at it again, and this time the hop wizards came up with a totally unique product - the cherished Zenia hop variety blended and packed tight with hemp hearts. This recipe utilizes these OG Kush hops, and the result is extraordinary. Flavors of jammy orange citrus and slight pine are amplified with notes of dank resin flavors lent by the hemp hearts. Expect to pour this deep golden straw elixir to produce a brilliant white foam cap, wafting aromas that will have your nose tickled with delight.

Tasting Notes:
- Aroma: Clean, simple bready malt character with resinous, dank, piney and slight orange-citrus hop notes.
- Appearance: Deep golden straw in color with a firm white foam head.
- Flavor: Clean malt flavors of fresh bread and slight cracker. Moderately bitter with dominant notes of pine and resin with supporting orange marmalade and jammy hints.
- Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied with a smooth, long, moderately dry finish.

“Always coming up with fresh and bold ideas, Central Minnesota’s Mighty Axe Hops has done it again with a very unique hop product. OG Kush is a novel approach to hop pelletizing, and it is absolutely unlike anything else out there. This blend starts with Mighty Axe’s awesome Zenia variety and then is blended with hemp hearts and pelletized. The resulting blend is everything we love about Zenia, but with a bit more flavor than you might expect. The addition of hemp hearts provides a unique dank and resinous quality to the blend, mingling perfectly with the already complex jammy-orange and slightly earthy, piney, and resinous character Zenia already brings. To let the OG Kush stand out, the remainder of the recipe is very simple, utilizing simple base malt as the base to prop up the flavors of the hop blend. In the case of the all-grain version, we went one step further and paired these Minnesota cultivated hops with a tasty pale base malt from Maltwerks In Detroit Lakes, MN. Maltwerks Pale malt is rich with deep bready notes and a hint of biscuit flavors, making it the perfect malt to showcase the multi-faceted flavors of the OG Kush hops.”
